MH: And so the sort of attraction to do ESL (English as a Second Language) as opposed to FSL (French as a Second Language) or both of them together is that just kind of something that happened?

MW: Yeah I guess because of my experience in Brazil/ and then I did the certificate I was more in that mindset and// yeah// I mean I am francophone/ like I am/ but I feel more comfortable in English I would say/ and I did teach Explore and all that but I felt more comfortable speaking French when I lived in Manitoba than I probably do now which is pretty funny because it’s like a francophone city/ well I mean it’s not a francophone city but it’s a francophone province but yeah I guess that was something that was a bit surprising/ I just don’t use French that much on a regular basis compared to when I was back home/ at least back home I had the connection with my family because I still speak French with my mom and that whole side of the family to this day/ and I had more ties to St-Boniface and things like that/ and here I just feel like I did my master’s McGill is very anglo and then I was Concordia I don’t know (29:12 justification for career choice in MTL).
